The Swan Inn, Birlingham - Country Thatched Pub

The Swan Inn, Birlingham

About Us...

Thought to date back around 500 years, The Swan Inn at Birlingham is owned by William and Zoe Haines and their four and six year old boys.

Zoe Haines, said the family had their eye on The Swan Inn for a few years and when they moved in over 9 years ago they were determined to gradually preserve it's traditional country character in the beautiful village surroundings, which was also a perfect location to bring up their family.

“We closed for five weeks when we first moved in to give the building a make-over, moving the bar and creating a light and airy interior, refurbishing the conservatory as well as updating the gardens and restoring the property to a 'picture postcard' traditional, black and white thatched Inn.”

The family has operated many pubs in the area including the Howard Arms in Illmington, the Ferry Inn in Alveston and Russons fish restaurant in Stratford. While working with the same Head Chef for nearly 30 years, their consistent high quality of freshly home made dishes still remains, serving pub favorites such as individual Steak & Ale Pie to more exotic dishes such as Cajun Chicken with fresh Mango & Red Onion Salsa.

But its the extensive Fresh Fish blackboard which attracts the majority of their customers, offering around 6 different fresh fish dishes daily The Swan Inn serves traditional Fish ‘N’ Chips with pea & mint puree, a popular Seafood Crepe au Gratin or more adventurous dishes such as Swordfish and Gilt head Seabream

So if your in the area and fancy a well kept pint or a delicious meal with family and friends, The Swan Inn, Birlingham is the perfect place to relax, eat, drink and enjoy your lunchtime or evening.
