Thought to date back around 500 years, The Swan Inn at Birlingham is run by the Haines and Russon family – well known in the area after running a number of local pubs and restaurants in and around Stratford-on-Avon.
Zoe Haines, said the family had their eye on The Swan Inn for a few years and when they moved in over four years ago they were determined to gradually preserve it's traditional country character in the beautiful village surroundings.
Zoe said: “We closed for five weeks when we first moved in to give the building a make-over, moving the bar and creating a light and airy interior, refurbishing the conservatory as well as updating the gardens and restoring the property to a 'picture postcard' traditional, black and white thatched Inn.”
But its the extensive Fresh Fish blackboard which attracts the majority of their customers, offering around 8 different fresh fish dishes daily The Swan Inn serves traditional Fish ‘N’ Chips with pea & mint puree, a popular Seafood Crepe au Gratin or more adventurous dishes such as Swordfish and Gilt head Seabream
